The Star Princess has dining in different locations. We didn’t want the same dining time the whole week, so we elected for the Celestrial Dining Room. Disadvantage was that we didn’t have the same waiter each night and we didn’t get the care that we did on our celebrity cruise when we did have the same waiter. So I’d say if you elect this option, request the same waiter each night.

RESERVATIONS are key. Every night we walked past the long line of people waiting for a table in the Celestrial Dining room because I made reservations for our dinner each night before we got to the dining room we were able to go right in. I made reservations for 6pm each night with the exception of the night we went to Victoria (that was a 5:20 reservation) and the night we got back to the boat late, that was an 8:20 reservation.

Do yourself a favor and make a reservation for the dining room so that you avoid the lines. My husband went on a cruise before we were engaged and ate the buffet the whole time and never went to the dining room. He regretted that. The dining room was a fun experience and we enjoyed the varied menu each night. We saved the buffet for breakfast. On days we were on the boat, my husband preferred to eat at the Lido deck where they served burgers and hot dogs and pizza. We also had the plus package, so had some food at OMalley’s as well.
